Hi, I'm Jeff, the sole proprietor of My Repair Guy.

Having reached this page, you have already learned that My Repair Guy is a one man, start-up company offering services of a "handy" nature.   I chose that mission because I'm a handy guy.
My professional career has always been in electronics, the first half in manufacturing, and the second in systems, but non-professionally, I've always done almost everything else, myself.   I guess that train of thought, DIY, was handed down to me through generations.   I wasn't thrilled as a kid, helping my dad work around the house on weekends while my friends were out playing, but I might have been, had I understood how priceless was the experience.
I've never had to hire an Electrician, or Plumber, or Carpenter, or Mason, or Painter.   I've used an Auto Mechanic shop only when a lift was absolutely required, or for warranty work, or for specialized procedures like wheel alignments, and maybe emergencies miles from home.    Working on cars is certainly not a hobby, though.
Necessity is the only thing that puts a wrench in my hand, and there has sure been plenty of that through the years.

Electronic stuff has always been abundant in our household.  TVs,  stereo equipment, VCRs, computers, printers, office equipment, and anything else you could think of.   A lot of what we had was "junk" that I reconditioned, but it was good stuff, and it was during a time when technology wasn't changing every other day, so the equipment was more, or less current.   In my life, I've purchased only one new, small TV, one VCR, and since the IBM PC, one ready-to-go, generic computer.     I've never bought new audio equipment, except for the car, but our place rocked!
Everything is just parts.  To me, things become "obsolete" only when new parts are not available, and the old parts can't be repaired.   There are always times when repairs are simply not practical, and it's always been a tough decision for me to make, that a repair just wasn't worth the cost, or effort.   But, overall I've been lucky.   We always had everything that we needed, and "down time" for most items was never very long.   Even a lawn mower.  I've always had at least one good running mower, but have never bought one.

In an effort to try to provide some reference to my level of "handiness",
I've compiled an ever growing list of the handy type of "stuff" that I have done, some of it only once, or twice, but in a lot of cases, more than a few times.  I doubt I could ever remember everything that I've done, but this is what I came up with.
I'm not an "expert" at all of these things, except maybe some of the work I did professionally in the Electronics field, but then, the fact that I've been successful might mean that expertise was not necessarily required.

I've got  some photos  of a few of the projects I've worked on.   There aren't many because
, typically, photo documentation is not in the forefront of my mind when I hop into a project, and the ease of digital photography is relatively recent with respect to how long I've been doing stuff.

This is not necessarily a list of the services that I offer,
but rather just a bunch of examples that I can do stuff.   The business is concentrated on fixing items in the home, rather than parts of the home like a Handyman would.  However, I am always willing to consider anything asked of me.
